Making Driver Vehicle inspection Report (DVIR) easier.

It almost goes without saying that maintaining vehicle safety standards is essential for all commercial vehicles.

However, a recent post from the FTA reminds us that from vans to HGVs daily vehicle checks are essential. It’s not just part of a box checking process for compliance, daily checks help identify any issues which could put the driver or vehicle in danger.

Checking key external components of the vehicle, including its tyres, steering, brakes, mirrors and lights is also important for efficiency, as fleet managers can pre-empt causes for breakdown and avoid disruption to schedules. While these checks need to be performed daily, there are ways to make them easier. Tools such as Telogis’ mobile-enabled, paperless Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) allow drivers to complete this entire process using their mobile device – reducing paperwork, automating compliance and helping drivers get on with their day job.
